A Quantum perspective on Acupuncture

Acupuncture and the Meridian therapies are based on the fact that the body has an energy system that follows pathways referred to as meridians. These meridians interact with a number of more concentrated energy centres called Chakras, as well as with detectable energy fields around the body. And if energy really does pervade every cubic centimetre of the universe, as physicist David Bohm (Wholeness and the Implicate Order) informs us, and then the meridians are part and parcel of our connection with each other and have an important function in creating our personal environment. But that’s another story. To understand the connections between bio energy and acupuncture, let us consider some facts about acupuncture.

Acupuncture & Meridians – Bio Energy Systems for Healing

Over five thousand years ago, some unknown person or persons in China discovered that the body has an energy system that follows specific pathways that are referred to as meridians. Predating the Chinese findings by a couple thousand years the same bioenergetics force was discovered in India. There is also evidence that similar knowledge sprung up around the same time in other parts of the world, including Egypt, Arabia, Brazil, among the Bantu Tribes of Africa and the Eskimos.

The Chinese system elaborated twelve primary bilateral meridians, each of which passes through a specific organ of the body, including the lungs, heart and stomach; in addition to collector meridians which intersect the front and back of the body and enter the brain. Additionally there are a number of lesser known collateral’s that interconnect with the primary meridians. The entire system is interconnected such that the flow of energy, referred to by the Chinese as Qi or Chi, travels from one meridian to the next, circulating throughout the body.

How the meridians were discovered remains a mystery. Besides the likelihood of trial and error, it has been suggested that this system was discovered by observing the effects of injuries to soldiers in battle. The locations of the assaults were recorded and correlated with various effects. Through trial and error the Chinese eventually were able to classify the interconnection between the shoulders as well as other bodily locations and the lungs. Similarly other organs were correlated with various locations on the body.

Another theory is that the people who discovered the meridian’s possessed highly developed sensory skills, such that they could see or palpate the flow within the meridians, and were thus able to precisely delineate the meridian geography. Today while many acupuncturists employ specific algorithms for needle placement, other more highly skilled practitioners of the art are reported to detect blocked, slow or over active flows of energy via palpation of twelve specific pulses on the patient’s wrists.

We can only speculate that over time the precise locations of the meridian pathways were tried and tested and eventually became a durable medical model in its own right – Acupuncture.

Regardless of how the discoveries came about, an extensive compilation eventually appeared in the twenty-four volume Nei Ching, the oldest writing on acupuncture, attributed to Huang Ti, the “Yellow Emperor,” who, although it is debated, reportedly ruled China for a hundred years from about 2697 BC to 2597 BC. Modern day acupuncture has deviated little from this text, suggesting that the system was developed and refined over the course of many preceding centuries.

Besides providing information about the pathways themselves, the Nei Ching text details information as to specific acupoints. For example, along each meridian there is a tonification point, which, when stimulated, increase the availability of energy within the meridian. Sedation points, on the other hand, reduce overactive energy. A number of other important points are also discussed in this text.

Quantum Stimulation

It is common to think of acupuncture as being performed with needles, since the meridian acupoints can be stimulated with needles. However, the term acupuncture (which means to puncture with needles) is a misnomer in many respects. It is perhaps better to refer to this treatment as Meridian Therapy, since there are many forms of stimulation that can be applied to affect the Qi within and between meridians. These means include tapping, rubbing, running one’s hands in the direction of the meridian flow, suction cups, light and colour, the use of herbs, vitamins, minerals, glandular extracts, specialized exercises, manipulation of specific muscles and moxibustion.

Applied Kinesiology, uses a method of tapping or percussing specific acupoints to alleviate physical pain. To determine where the tapping has to be applied Kinesiologists employ a muscle testing procedure and what is referred to as Therapy Localization. This method involves having the patient touch specific locations on his or her body while the doctor tests the strength in an indicator muscle, which can be any isolated muscle.

In a related manner, psychologist Roger Callahan and psychiatrist John Diamond have found that tapping on acupoints is beneficial toward eliminating pain and negative emotions such as anxieties, phobias, depression, anger, and so forth. By localising therapy and seeing how the muscle strength holds up it is possible to get highly refined information from the body.

Another effective way to localize therapy and help determine specific treatment algorithms is to use an energetic diagnostic tool such as the Lecher Antenna. The lecher Antenna is designed to measure the very subtle energy emissions in and around the body. Using specific measurements, both the individual meridian pathways and the surrounding fields can be measured. Deviations from the wave pattern indicate the nature of a problem, be it under/over active, closed or out of balance. With the information you can make corrections such that the pathways are liberated and the energy system is realigned –back into its optimum position for self healing.

Bio-Realignment and stimulation.

Rene Naccassian, founder of the ACMOS system of Bioenergetics has a unique view of the role of acupuncture in maintaining health and well-being. He says that not all the points should be clear, blockages occur as part of the body’s defence system. Sometimes, what works in the East does not work in the West. Hence he is in favour of letting the body dictate what it needs. His view is that to facilitate healing, stimulation of acupoints is only relevant when bio energetics testing is asking for stimulation. From a similar, naturopathic view, Sir Peter Manners, M.D D.O, spent fifty years researching the wave emanations of different body cells and developed the first quantum healing approach using audible and sub-audible sounds to re-establish molecular structure in human organs, glands, and systems. He also believed that sometimes the body’s meridian ’switched off’ certain points to help moderate pressures on other organs or systems and sometimes needed help to restore harmony when the threat or tension was eliminated. That is, sometimes they would spontaneously fix themselves, other times they needed stimulation. He identified the resonating frequencies to tonify specific meridian pathways using sound and light as an aid to natural self healing.

Quantum Change:

There is a wealth of new scientific information emerging that supports the validity of energetic medicine and ancient wisdom. Some findings suggest that the electro-magnetic fields in and around the body may be as important (if not more so) in supporting health and well-being. At Quantum Change, we have incorporated these ideas and techniques. For instance we use sound, electro-acupuncture, colour and/or essential oils to stimulate, sedate or tonify specific acupoints – as part of a Bio-Realignment treatment and in working with injury and disease. We find that by using a quantum measuring tool like the Lecher Antenna, we can measure the very subtle energies in and around the body. As we do that we get quite specific information that allows us to treat physical problems energetically – when we provide the indicated frequencies, using sound, light or colour resonance. This allows us to identify any remaining energy blockages that need to be cleared through acupoints stimulation and the result is usually an acceleration of healing.

Graham

An example of this was in treating Graham (a 45year old civil servant).He has been diagnosed medically with nervous anxiety and was receiving medication from his. He had been off work for three months and was worried he could never return due to the stress he was still experiencing in his life. He listed panic attacks and insomnia as his two main problems. My initial readings indicated that his deep centripetal energy and physical/symptomatic and mental fields were excessively high and his ‘ting point’ measurements varied between 15 and 99, suggesting his meridians pathways were in an anarchic state. In addition he had been attending counselling sessions for a month that he did not feel was helping him. The medication he was prescribed was beginning to cause uncomfortable side effects for him and his use of alcohol was adding to his problems.

Using the Lecher Antenna I was able to show him how his energy fields were distorting in such a way that it was preventing his body from managing its own healing. With this information, we were able to further ‘ask his body’ what specifically it needed to self correct. When the correcting Cymatics frequencies were applied to the body his fields aligned. The treatment was concluded by applying some electro-acupuncture, as indicated by his body’s energy system. The end result was that all his energy fields and meridians were aligned and he was now in a position to heal him self. I could see visible improvements by the end of the first session and with two subsequent treatments his vitality was markedly improved; medication suspended and he stated that he felt more resilient and stronger than he had in the previous twelve months.

Kim

Kim was also in an anxious state when she came for a treatment; she had four melanomas on her left arm and was awaiting an appointment with a specialist at her local hospital. A global energy alignment was commenced with the intention of supporting the medical treatment she was anticipating. The readings identified direct application of Cymatics frequencies for Mucous carcinoma and carcinoma general. These were applied on the skin for about twenty minutes. She returned two days later for a follow up treatment and was excited because the melanomas had shrunk by over 50%. After three treatments the melanomas appeared to have vanished. As I write this, I am awaiting a report from her after her hospital consultation. In reviewing her notes, I see that sedation of the kidney and spleen meridian was indicated and this along with the realignment of the energy fields seems to have enabled her body to naturally restore itself quite quickly and more without invasive methods.

Quantum Healing

While it is possible to achieve physical and emotional changes by environmental, cognitive, and chemical means, generally such approaches do not produce rapid, profound changes. They work over time and frequently result in noteworthy amelioration but not total elimination of the problem. I believe that this is due to the fact that these approaches do not specifically address the energy system that governs emotional responses. To improve health, medical science must begin to take seriously quantum thinking about the body’s energetic template. That is, when a health problem occurs it is initially preceded by a change in the energy system, the initial domino that sets the whole process in motion. It is not that circumstances or chemistry are irrelevant, but if the energy system and/or the meridian pathways are not attended too then the body is less able to manage its own healing.

Acupuncture and other Meridian therapies will no doubt continue to prove valuable in healing the body and the mind. They have been around a long time and strangely enough fit in very well with quantum physics and might just point the way to a kinder and more effective health care system. Everything is energy after all and to make a real quantum leap into a new empowering medical model, allopathic doctors might want to look closer at want all this could mean to them and their patients.
